Improving Space Operation Workshop DATES: April 27-28, 2006, immediately following the 2006 Responsive Space Conference. Workshop attendees are invited to participate in the Responsive Space Conference activities on April 27 at the Westin. The Improving Space Operations Workshop concerns itself with operations and its technology developments for manned and unmanned missions both in earth orbital and planetary operations and with all the issues associated with space operations and support. Such support includes training, servicing, logistics, etc. It is held annually and is produced by the AIAA Space Operations and Support Technical Committee (SOSTC). The Workshop will immediately follow the RS4 conference on Thursday and conclude on Friday. SOSTC is made up of professionals engaged in space operations development, integration and management in the aerospace industry, NASA, DOD, other government agencies, and the academic community. It addresses issues associated with space operations and space transportation systems, including technology development and integration into existing systems. Effective operations and support of systems in space, as well as the means to getting there, require consideration of the broad areas of science, technology, management and cost - all factors critical to the future of the space enterprise. The Workshop is a primary means by which the SOSTC achieves its objectives:
The Workshop format sets up small working groups that study several technical areas relevant to space operations. Brief plenary sessions at the start and end will respectively introduce and summarize the work of each technical area, or tracks. Each Track run in parallel and is centered on the Responsive Space Conference theme of "Pulling It Together":
The cost for attending the Space Operations Workshop alone is $50. If you wish to attend the Workshop in conjunction with RS4, the cost is $30 and you are invited to participate in all of the RS4 events on Thursday. To register now, click here. | |||||
